Daniel Giffney (PhD student)
Daniel received his honours bachelor’s degree and higher diploma in Neuroscience from Trinity College Dublin. In his final year thesis, he used an electrophysiological approach to examine the role of septal projections on the allocentric remapping of place cells in the hippocampus (link). He has developed an interest in acquiring and analysing neuronal data using various experimental and computational approaches. He is working as a fast-track PhD student on the LIN Special Project “Autophagy meets Sleep” together with Anna Karpova and Matthias.
